Anneau astronomique : un anneau à multiples facettes
L’anneau astronomique est un instrument créé et inventé par les Grecs au IIe siècle avant J.-C. et fut utilisé jusqu’au XIXe siècle pour observer les mouvements des étoiles et des planètes. Les sphères armillaires servaient de cartes pour étudier les différents phénomènes célestes mais aussi pour calculer les longitudes et les latitudes. À l’époque, elles pouvaient être utilisées de jour comme de nuit. L’anneau astronomique comporte plusieurs anneaux et méridiens.
